Sarcochilus ceciliae (Fairy Bells)

A small lithophyte, this beautiful orchid grows in sheltered situations, commonly (but not exclusively) on rock-faces in creek beds. It forms dense little clumps with thick, fleshy leaves up to 8cm long and 10mm wide, channelled, green or reddish-brown with spots. In summer it produces slender, erect racemes bearing up to a dozen small, pink flowers, each about 7mm across.
